John Stout Mediator Arbitrator

Welcome

John Stout is a mediator, arbitrator and independent investigator practicing primarily in the Province of Ontario. His practice includes mediating and adjudicating disputes in both the private and public sectors.

John is on the Ontario Ministry of Labour’s list of approved grievance arbitrators and is an approved adjudicator under the Canada Labour Code. He is also on the Ontario Police Arbitration Commission Register of approved arbitrators.

John is named as a roster arbitrator in numerous collective agreements and is the Chief Arbitrator for all contracting out grievances between Essar Steel Algoma Inc. and United Steelworkers 2251.

John was educated at the University of Windsor and called to the bar in 1995. In 2006, the Law Society of Upper Canada granted John the designation of Certified Specialist (Labour Law), which he held until his retirement from active practice on July 31, 2008.

John is a member of the National Academy of Arbitrators and a member of the Ontario Labour Management Arbitrators’ Association.

In his spare time, John likes to spend time with his wife, two daughters and his many four legged friends.
